The Founding Ytong Nest – Type A is a compact formicarium designed specifically for early-stage ant colonies. As part of the first series of Esthetic Ants Ytong nests, it offers excellent moisture regulation and a natural nesting environment for founding colonies.
Founding Ytong Nest - Type A
The nest features three straight-shaped chambers carved into a Ytong block, providing a stable and humid microclimate. Moisture is added through the side-mounted chimney, allowing controlled hydration without disturbing the colony.
An escape-proof mesh is embedded into the frame, while a clear acrylic cover secured with screws provides visibility and protection. For best results, we do not recommend removing all screws during use. A red shield is included to reduce light exposure and support natural ant behavior.
This nest is designed to be used in a flat position.
If heating is required, we recommend placing the heating medium on top of the Ytong block to prevent condensation inside the nest.
