Note: This set is not pre-assembled. The outworld must be assembled at home, but setup is quick and beginner-friendly.

To complete your starter setup, we strongly recommend:
• Heat cable – for gentle warmth when needed
• Feeder insects – mealworms, fruit flies, crickets, roaches, etc.
• Sugar water – for consistent long-term energy

The setup arrives unassembled, but it’s very easy to put together. Below is a simple step-by-step guide for new antkeepers:

• Unbox all items
  Lay everything out neatly so you know what you’re working with.

• Assemble the outworld
  All panels and screws fit together easily and clearly.

• Apply the anti-escape barrier
  Remove the lid of the outworld and use a brush (not included in this set) to apply a thin layer of fluon along the inner rim.

• Attach the Ytong nest
  Connect the Ytong nest to the outworld using one of the ports.

• Prepare the liquid feeders
  • One filled with sugar water
  • One filled with plain water
  Add a small piece of cotton at the bottom to prevent drowning.

• Introduce your ants
  • Best method: gently pour the colony into the outworld
  or
  • Remove a port cover and connect the colony’s test tube via the included tubing.

• Place the red shield
  Slide the red shield over the Ytong nest to keep the colony in a darker, calmer environment.

• Feed & maintain
  • Offer insects once a week
  • Keep liquid feeders topped up
  • Monitor Ytong moisture
  • Replace test tubes when necessary
