Choosing the right outworld

 

Choosing the right outworld is important for the well-being of your ants. Smaller colonies, especially those with fewer than 50 workers, benefit most from a small or medium outworld. Larger setups make it harder for young colonies to reach their food, costing them unnecessary energy. Once a colony grows past that size, you can freely select any outworld that matches your preferred setup, style, and space.

Decorating an outworld is easy and gives your ants a more natural environment. Just make sure everything you add stays dry. Moist substrate or wet decoration will encourage your ants to start digging, which can lead to escapes or unwanted nesting inside the outworld.

Pick the size that matches your colony’s stage, keep the layout dry, and you’ll have a clean, functional, and attractive foraging area your ants can enjoy.
